How to request a refund for a subscription renewal
In the US (as of 2026-10-18), ask the party that billed you. For Apple: sign in at reportaproblem.apple.com, choose Request a refund, pick a reason and the subscription, then Submit (Apple Support: Request a refund). For Google Play: use Google’s refund request flow; within 48 hours you may request via Play, and after 48 hours Google says to contact the developer (Request a refund on Google Play; refund policies).
Cancel the subscription first so it cannot renew again. Merchant-billed charges go to that company’s support—not Apple or Google.
Refunds are not guaranteed. Follow the official flow for your biller and keep confirmation emails.

If a merchant billed you
- Contact that company’s support with the charge date and amount.
- Ask about their refund policy; keep written confirmation.
How to confirm it worked
