In the US (as of 2026-10-18), Amazon Lightsail pricing lists Linux/Unix bundles from $5/month (0.5 GB / 2 vCPUs with public IPv4; IPv6-only from about $3.50). Higher memory/CPU tiers scale up. Stop billing by deleting instances, databases, disks, and static IPs in the Lightsail console (Lightsail Docs).
Stopped instances still bill until deleted. Closing the AWS account is a separate nuclear option.

How to cancel Lightsail billing
Delete resources
- Sign in to the Lightsail console.
- Delete instances, managed databases, containers, disks, snapshots, and static IPs you no longer need.
- Confirm the AWS bill shows no Lightsail line items next cycle.
- Optionally close unused AWS accounts via Account settings if you are done with AWS entirely.
How to confirm it worked
You're done when:
- No Lightsail resources remain.
- No new Lightsail charges post after that.

- Only stopped an instance. It still bills until deleted.
- Left a static IP or disk. Separate fees.
- Only deleted one region's resources. Check all regions.
