Vultr price (October 2026) and how to cancel
In the US (as of 2026-10-18), Vultr pricing lists small Cloud Compute instances from about $5–$6/month for 1GB plans (Regular ~$5; High Performance often about $6), billed hourly with a monthly cap. Stop billing by destroying instances, then close the account in Account → Billing (Vultr Docs).
Stopped instances still bill until destroyed. Uninstalling the CLI does not cancel.
Account owner required. Snapshot/export before destroy.

How to cancel Vultr
Destroy then close
- Sign in at my.vultr.com.
- Destroy instances, block storage, and reserved IPs.
- Open Account settings → close / cancel the account.
- Confirm the next invoice is clear.
How to confirm it worked
You're done when:
- No billable resources remain and the account is closed (if chosen).
- No new Vultr invoice posts.
Source: Vultr Docs / Customer Portal.
Common problems
- Only powered off a server. It still bills until destroyed.
- Left block storage. Volumes bill while provisioned.
- Non-owner tried to close. Need permissions.
- Only uninstalled the CLI. Billing continues.
