In the US (as of 2026-10-18), Xbox Game Pass costs $9.99/month (Essential), $14.99/month (Premium), $22.99/month (Ultimate) and $13.99/month (PC Game Pass) (Xbox Store Essential; Xbox Store Ultimate; Xbox Wire, Apr 21, 2026). To cancel, go to your Microsoft account Subscriptions page, find Game Pass, select Manage, then select Cancel and follow the prompts (Microsoft Support: Cancel your Microsoft subscription).
Cancel before the next billing date to stop future charges. If recurring billing already charged you, the Xbox Game Pass FAQ says you can get a refund of your most recent recurring charge if you cancel within 30 days after payment, limited to one time per Microsoft account, per subscription product (Xbox Game Pass FAQ).
Microsoft bills Game Pass through your Microsoft account. Deleting the Xbox app does not cancel. If you bought through Apple or Google Play, cancel there instead.

How to cancel Xbox Game Pass
On the web (Microsoft account)
- Go to Subscriptions and sign in with the Microsoft account that bought Game Pass.
- Find your Game Pass subscription and select Manage.
- Select Cancel (or Upgrade or Cancel, depending on the plan).
- Follow the on-screen instructions to finish cancellation.
If you bought through Apple or Google Play
- Cancel in that store's subscription settings. Microsoft Support cannot cancel App Store or Play purchases for you.
How to confirm it worked
You're done when:
- The subscription page shows an end date and Turn on recurring billing (meaning renewals are off).
- You can keep using Game Pass until that date.
- You are not charged on the next billing date.
