Kindle Unlimited price (October 2026) and how to cancel
In the US (as of 2026-10-18), Kindle Unlimited costs $11.99 USD/month plus any applicable taxes until cancelled (Amazon: Kindle Content & Subscriptions; Kindle Unlimited FAQ). To cancel when Amazon bills you, go to Cancel Kindle Unlimited, sign in, and select Cancel membership (Amazon Help: Cancel Your Kindle Unlimited Subscription).
Your membership stays active until the next billing date. After that date, borrowed titles leave your devices. Amazon Help says you will not receive a partial refund for unused months on a prepaid (gift or bundle) membership.
Kindle Unlimited is a borrowing catalog, not a store purchase. Finish or buy titles you care about before the membership ends.

How to cancel Kindle Unlimited
If Amazon bills you
- Go to Cancel Kindle Unlimited and sign in to your Amazon account.
- Select Cancel membership.
- Confirm. Amazon Help says the membership stays active until the next billing date.
- Optional: if offered, choose pause for 1 month instead of cancelling (not available on trials or promos).
On the Kindle or Amazon app
- Subscription management is on the web. Open amazon.com in a browser and use Cancel Kindle Unlimited.
How to confirm it worked

- The Cancel Kindle Unlimited / membership page shows the membership will end on the next billing date.
- You are not charged after that date.
- After the billing date, borrowed KU titles are no longer available to read.

Common problems
- You expected a mid-month refund. Amazon Help says prepaid (gift or bundle) memberships do not get a partial refund for unused months.
- You only returned books or deleted the app. That does not cancel. Use Cancel membership.
- You signed up through a third party. Cancel with that partner (Terms).
- Pause is missing. Amazon Help says you cannot pause during a free trial or promotional period.
What we checked
Verified on official Amazon pages (October 18, 2026): $11.99/month on Kindle Content & Subscriptions; $11.99 USD/month plus taxes and 30-day free trial for new subscribers on Kindle Unlimited FAQ; same $11.99 USD/month + tax and cancel-anytime wording on Kindle Content FAQ; cancel path (Cancel Kindle Unlimited > Cancel membership), access until next billing date, loss of checked-out content after that date, optional 1-month pause with trial/promo exclusions, and no partial refund for prepaid gift/bundle memberships on Cancel Your Kindle Unlimited Subscription.
Not verified - left out: current multi-month prepaid dollar prices; partner-specific cancel menus.
Pause instead of cancelling
Amazon Help says monthly subscribers can pause for 1 month instead of cancelling. The pause starts at the end of the billing cycle and resumes automatically (or you can resume early). You cannot pause during a free trial or promotional period (Amazon Help).
Borrowed books after cancel
When the membership ends, borrowed KU titles are removed from your devices.
Refunds
Amazon Help: no partial refund for unused months on prepaid gift or bundle memberships. For a mistaken charge after a trial, contact Amazon customer service; outcomes vary.
