Audible price (October 2026) and how to cancel without losing credits
In the US (as of 2026-10-18), Audible lists Standard at $8.99/month and Premium at $14.95/month after the trial, plus Premium annual plans at $149.50/year (12 credits) and $229.50/year (24 credits) (Membership plans). To cancel on the Audible site: select your name > Membership details > Cancel membership > Confirm cancellation (Audible Help: Cancel membership).
Spend unused credits first if you can - Help says web/Audible-billed Premium members lose unused credits and member benefits at the end of the final billing cycle (credits also expire 12 months after issue or upon cancellation). App Store / Google Play credits are treated differently (see below).
Deleting the Audible app does not cancel. Titles you bought with credits or a card stay in your Library after you leave.

How to cancel Audible
Before you cancel (credits)
- Open Library / membership details and note unused credits.
- Use credits on titles you want, or check Help for a pause instead of cancelling.
If Audible bills you (website)
- Sign in at audible.com in a browser.
- Select your name (desktop top nav, or main menu on mobile web).
- Select Membership details.
- Select Cancel membership, then Confirm cancellation.
- Keep the confirmation email; check that Membership details shows the new status.
If Apple bills you
- Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad and tap your name at the top.
- Tap Subscriptions.
- Tap Audible.
- Tap Cancel Subscription (or Cancel Free Trial), then confirm.
If Google Play bills you
- On Android, open Subscriptions in Google Play (same Google Account that has the subscription).
- Select Audible.
- Tap Cancel subscription and follow the instructions.
How to confirm it worked
You're done when:
- You received the confirmation email and Membership details reflects the cancellation (Audible-billed), or the App Store / Google Play subscription shows canceled.
- You understand when the final billing cycle ends.
Source: Audible Help: Cancel membership.
Common problems
- No Cancel membership on the site. You may be on an App Store / Google Play plan, or signed into the wrong account.
- You only deleted the app. Help: that does not cancel.
- Credits vanished. For Audible-billed Premium, unused credits and included-catalog access end with the final cycle (and credits can expire at 12 months or on cancel). Help says App Store / Google Play credits do not expire the same way and can remain after cancel.
- Included catalog titles locked. Purchased titles stay; included-catalog downloads lock when membership ends.
What we checked
Verified on official Audible pages (2026-10-18): Standard $8.99 and Premium $14.95 monthly after trial, Premium annual $149.50 / $229.50 (memberbenefits); cancel path Membership details > Cancel membership > Confirm cancellation; Apple/Google must cancel in-store; deleting the app does not cancel; purchased titles stay; unused credits/benefits end for Audible-billed Premium at end of final cycle; credit expiry rules (Help).
Not verified - left out: renaming 'Premium Plus' (current site/Help say Premium); exact pause length beyond Help mentioning pause eligibility; Kindle Unlimited comparison packing.
What you keep vs lose
- Keep: titles purchased with credits or card - always in Library, re-downloadable.
- Lose (Audible-billed Premium): unused credits and member benefits (including exclusive discounts and included titles) at the end of the final billing cycle.
- Included catalog downloads become locked when membership ends.
Pause instead
Audible Help points pause as an option if you have credits you do not want to lose. Contact/contactus and Help also note Premium members may be eligible to pause (details and limits are on Audible's pause flows). Prefer the on-site pause offer over guessing a duration.
