How to cancel Disney+ (bundle vs standalone billing)

Updated · CancelCost
Applies to: Disney+ and Disney+ Premium (standalone or in a Disney+/Hulu or ESPN bundle) in the US, billed by Disney+ or by a third-party partner such as Apple or Google Play. Hulu + Live TV is covered on the Hulu page.

Most people who think they have “just Disney+” are actually on a Disney+/Hulu bundle - cancel the wrong place and you drop Hulu too. If Disney+ bills you, sign in at disneyplus.com, open your profile, go to Account, open the plan under Subscription, and choose Cancel Subscription (Disney+ Help: How to cancel).

US bundle list prices (checked 2026-10-18) include the Disney+, Hulu Bundle at $12.99/month with ads or $21.99/month Premium (Hulu Help: plans and prices); standalone Disney+ tiers are on Disney+ Help: plans and pricing and on your Account page. You keep streaming until the term ends; Disney does not prorate unused days. Apple, Google Play or another partner? Cancel there - Disney+ cannot end a partner bill for you.

Signing out or deleting the app does not cancel. The cancel button is on the plan that bills you - a standalone Disney+ plan, a Disney+/Hulu bundle, or a partner subscription.

How to cancel Disney+

If Disney+ bills you

  1. On a browser, open disneyplus.com and sign in (TV apps often hide cancel).
  2. Pick your profile, then Account.
  3. Under Subscription, open the plan or Disney Bundle you actually pay for.
  4. Choose Cancel Subscription, confirm, and note the access end date in the confirmation.

If Apple bills you

  1. On iPhone or iPad: Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions.
  2. Open Disney+ and tap Cancel Subscription (or Cancel Free Trial).

If Google Play bills you

  1. In Google Play, open Subscriptions with the same Google Account that bought Disney+.
  2. Select Disney+, tap Cancel subscription, and finish the prompts.
  3. Deleting the app does not stop Play billing.

If another partner bills you

  1. Check Payment / Subscription on the Disney+ Account page for the partner name.
  2. Cancel inside that partner's own subscriptions tools (Roku, Amazon, Verizon, and similar).
  3. Disney+ Help says it cannot cancel partner-billed plans for you.

How to confirm it worked

You're done when:

  • Your Account page shows the subscription as cancelled (or no longer set to renew), with the date access ends.
  • Disney emailed a confirmation to the address on the account.
  • You are not charged after that date.

You keep streaming until the end of the current term. Source: Disney+ Help; Subscriber Agreement.

Common problems

  • No Cancel Subscription button. A third party bills you - match Apple, Google Play or the partner named on your Account page.
  • You only signed out or deleted the app. Billing keeps running. Cancel on Account > Subscription (or in the store that charged you).
  • You are on a Disney+/Hulu (or ESPN) bundle and only wanted to drop Disney+. Cancelling the bundle ends every service in it. Switch to a standalone Hulu or ESPN plan first if you want to keep those.
  • You expected a partial-month refund. The Subscriber Agreement says no prorated credit; you keep access until the term ends (Subscriber Agreement).
  • App Store or Play charge you want refunded. Ask Apple or Google, not Disney.

What we checked

Verified on official pages (October 18, 2026): Disney+/Hulu, ESPN and HBO Max bundle prices on Hulu Help: plans and prices; Disney+ plans/pricing Help article disneyplus-plans-and-pricing; cancel path (profile > Account > Subscription > Cancel Subscription) and continued access to end of term on Disney+ Help; no prorated refund on cancel in the US Subscriber Agreement; Apple and Google Play as third-party billing routes (Disney+ Help third-party / cancel articles); pause available only for monthly plans billed by Disney+.

Not verified - left out: standalone Disney+ (With Ads) and Premium monthly/annual dollar list prices (Help plans page is linked above but body content is not reliably extractable as static list prices from this location); the exact October 21, 2026 existing-subscriber increase date (stated on Hulu Help for Hulu, not copied here from Disney+); partner-specific cancel menus for every cable or phone offer; Singapore-locale help wording that differs from the US.

Pause instead of cancelling

Disney+ Help says that if you have a monthly subscription billed by Disney+, you can pause from the same Account > Subscription screen: choose Pause Subscription, pick a length, then confirm. The pause starts on the first day of the next billing period; you keep watching until then, and you are not charged during the pause. Third-party-billed plans cannot use Disney+'s pause - contact the partner. Source: Disney+ Help.

Bundle, standalone or a break

  • You watch both Disney+ and Hulu most weeks: compare the bundle price on Hulu Help's plans page with what your Account page shows for standalone plans before you cancel.
  • You only want one franchise or one new season: keep that one service for a month, then cancel.
  • You're choosing between Disney+ and Netflix: list what you'll watch in the next 30 days - see Netflix.
  • You want live sports every day: compare an ESPN Unlimited bundle with YouTube TV.

The cancel button is on the plan you pay for, and the bill comes from whoever the Account page lists.

Refunds

Disney does not refund or credit partially used periods when you cancel (Help; Subscriber Agreement). For App Store or Google Play charges, use Apple's or Google's refund tools.

Frequently asked questions

Can I cancel mid-month?

Yes. Cancel any time; access lasts through the term you already paid. Disney+ Help does not list a cancellation fee.

I only meant to drop Disney+ - why did Hulu vanish?

You cancelled a Disney Bundle. That ends every service in the bundle. Switch to a standalone Hulu (or ESPN) plan before you cancel if you want to keep one.

Do I get money back for unused days?

No prorated refund under the Subscriber Agreement - you keep streaming until the term ends.

Where did the cancel button go?

Check who bills you on the Account page. Apple, Google Play or another partner means you cancel in that store, not on disneyplus.com.
