In the US (as of 2026-10-18), Costco membership fees are $65/year for Gold Star and Business, and $130/year for Executive ($65 + $65), plus tax (Auto Renewal Help). Stop Auto Renew online: Account → Renew Membership → remove card (≥72 hours before renewal month). To cancel the membership itself, the Primary Member must call 1-800-774-2678 or visit a warehouse membership counter (How can I cancel) — Costco does not offer full online membership cancel.
Letting Auto Renew stay on charges the next year on the first day of your renewal month.
Removing Auto Renew lets the membership expire at term end. Immediate cancel/refund is typically handled at the counter or by phone.

How to cancel Costco membership / Auto Renew
Stop Auto Renew online
- Sign in at Costco.com.
- Open Account → Renew Membership.
- Remove the Auto Renew card/setting.
- Do this at least 72 hours before renewal month starts.
Cancel membership
- As Primary Member, call 1-800-774-2678 or visit a membership counter.
- Request cancel / refund per Costco policy.
- Return cards if asked.
How to confirm it worked
You're done when:
- Auto Renew is off (if that was the goal), or Member Services confirms membership canceled.
- No unexpected renewal charge posts (or refund form submitted if needed).
